I draw from the main counselling theories, skills, and tools to help my clients build solutions for the issues they bring to therapy and support them to build strategies for long-lasting solutions and wellbeing. I believe that the cultivation of self-awareness produces an inner ripple effect of endless positive changes. I have a passion for helping others connect with their self-empowerment, confidence, and joy for life. My education and training in professional counseling, coupled with my extensive experience in teaching, advocacy, non-profits volunteering, administration, and business have equipped myself with a plethora of diverse skills, and knowledge to help others heal and restore their sense of balance and wellbeing. In regard to past work experiences in education, I have gathered 30+ years of a very successful teaching career in North and South America. I worked as a teacher, program coordinator, curricula developer, ESL/EFL consultant, and school administrator in the field of English as a Second Language & Academic English. I worked mainly with local and international students (of all ages) at various levels of English Proficiency and ages. In 2005 I founded E.L.I.T. (English Language Improvement Training and later ELITbyHaydee) in Vancouver, Canada. As a sole proprietor, I successfully owned and operated this business until Dec of 2015.
