I am an MRes Social Science Research Student at the University of Exeter, specialising in data analysis with a supporting dissertation in History. My modular focuses within my Master's program are Applied Qualitative and Quantitative analysis (using programs such as NVivo and SPSS); Computational Data Analysis (primarily through Python); and Advanced Research Skills within History, culminating in a Master's History dissertation.My MRes program is built upon the successes of my History BA, in which I received a First Class Honours. During my undergraduate studies, I predominately focused on Modern-British History, namely the British Working Class, the 'Social Other' within Britain, and Black British History. This culminated in my Third Year Dissertation, "'Alien to our streets': Racialised Social Commentary and its Relationship with London's Afro-Caribbean Community, 1980-1985." which achieved a First Class Mark. While my focus on British History was ironclad by my Third Year, my degree was supplemented by other modular choices throughout the three years, such as Resistance and Decolonisation in the twentieth century; African American History; and European Memory. Each of these helped develop my critical reading, confidence, communication skills, and research skills, all of which I am determined to continue improving through my commitment to further higher education.Whilst my educational experience is strong, I have also been employed in several sectors that have given me real-life experience that I have been able to apply and learn from, developing my character and demonstrating my commitment to personal growth. I have become more involved in marketing, financial and leadership aspects of my employment, supporting my manager, assistant general manager, and wider team beyond my named role, most recently and effectively at Escape Hunt UK.
