Confirm dig site locations via hard tape measurement or Trimble GPS. Oversee all excavation and backfill activities. Supervise coating removal, sandblasting, and application of various coating systems. Coordination of welding activities, and overall communication with pipeline operators. Advanced NDE: Non-destructive evaluations of NGL and NGP pipelines. Experienced in in-ditch pipeline integrity dig evaluations. External defects (dent, gouge, corrosion, etc.) are assessed with manual pit depth gauges and Creaform units using Pipecheck software. Internal anomalies are assessed with UT-0 and corrosion mapping equipment (Hydroform / Scantech). Other in-ditch tasks include pipe to soil measurements, PH, soil resistivity, depth of cover, excavation dimensions, shooting GPS (Trimble), and laying out repairs in accordance with company repair procedures and Integrity Management Plans.
