Level 3 table official overseeing games in the British Basketball League setup, including a Women’s Trophy Final in Glasgow. Doing this has introduced me to new people, and pushed me out of my comfort zone in terms of talking to people who I’ve never met before ie coaches and other officials.

Level 3 table and level 2 referee overseeing games from Junior National League all the way up to Division 1 National League. Refereeing these games has helped me react to confrontational situations in a competitive environment and helped me improve even more at working in a team.

Level 2 referee helping to support a local junior league on a Saturday and Sunday. In this role I have mentored younger/less experienced officials and helped them to gain their qualifications. To do this I have helped produce a CPD session and also hosted one.

In this job I had a new challenge everyday encountering many different customers. In doing this I spoke to a large variety of people, from many different age groups and backgrounds. I had to learn how to measure and fit shoes, and how to use the stock room efficiently. I also had to learn how to use their shoe ordering system as well as the tills. I received positive feedback from customers and managers.

I coached basketball as a volunteer, attending weekly sessions and helping other players with their game. I coached teams as they participated in the local league and also communicated with parents about their children’s progress.
