Project portfolio: Student organization funding and consultation services, airport transportation service, and office and staff managementI manage a transportation program linking Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) and the University of Michigan campus for students, leading a team of 10-20 employees, handling customer service, logistics, HR tasks, payroll, website updates, and financial tracking. I coordinate with airport authorities and vehicle providers, develop schedules, manage billing, and resolve inquiries and irregular operations with this service. I also handle student organization funding requests using TeamDynamix, prepare committee reviews, communicate outcomes, and facilitate payments. I recruit and train committee members and process applications for the Wolverine Consulting Group, a consultation and startup funding service. Finally, I schedule and coordinate front office staff, manage office space and supplies, and handle bookings for events and meetings.

I represent the academic master’s and PhD students at the University of Michigan in the central legislature of the student body. Previously Member of the Assembly from the Rackham School of Graduate Studies, November 2018-April 2021. Chair of the Finance Committee 2020-2021.

I managed Central Student Government's subscriptions offerings, required trainings, and airport transportation. I developed this role in partnership with the President to create a home for high profile projects that need a dedicated, experienced individual who can act as a customer service manager, content developer, business development professional, web designer, and all-around problem-solver.

Managed all aspects of our subsidized airport transportation service for students at the beginning and end of academic breaks, both outbound (from campus to DTW) and inbound (from DTW to campus). Scheduled trips according to highest demand and marketed the service using various media. Collected payment and directed students to the proper boarding area. Assisted with luggage and handed out face masks and cleaning supplies as necessary. Worked quickly to creatively problem solve during irregular operations to get passengers to their destination while maintaining professionalism even when passengers were angry, annoyed, or tired.

Managed a student organization funding budget of approximately $800,000 per year and a team of 50, overseeing the funding process. Approved receipts and payments to organization leaders. Explained our reasoning for funding decisions to potentially frustrated and disappointed students in a compassionate and understanding way through both verbal and written communication.

Managed CSG’s free subscription service to the student body for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, with over 13,000 active subscribers. Designed graphics for social media and published content to our website and blog. Represented our organization with kindness, helpfulness, and a smiling face to every person to visit, call on the phone, or send an email to us.

Ensured safety and comfort of passengers on domestic and international flights. Completed a six-week intensive training program in safety, security, medical emergencies, and onboard service. Served as lead flight attendant on several domestic and international sequences. Received awards for service and for documentation of issues.Selected for a special assignment to test new inflight technology and meet with leadership to discuss feedback and results of real-time use of these new tools.

Working on the Communities of Interest project to mobilize diverse communities of voters to advocate for themselves to the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission.

Assisted patrons in the use of Aeon, our special collections request system, to do research. Educated patrons on safe handling of archives and rare materials. Monitored materials to ensure they were in usable condition and sent materials to the preservation department for repair. Assisted with archival research for patrons and librarians. Ensured materials were shelved properly using Library of Congress classification system. Used Innovative Millennium to search for cataloged materials and ensure proper cataloging.

Served on the leadership team of the journal, along with the Copy Editors and the Editor-in-Chief. Assisted the EIC in setting the timeline and the process for review of articles. Assisted Editorial Board members with their reviews, ensuring they were constructive and helpful to the authors. Also served in the same capacity as the rest of the Student Editorial Board, reviewing manuscripts and deciding along with the Editor-in-Chief whether they should be included in the journal.

Managed $35 million worth of student fees and how it is appropriated to different Student Affairs departments. Heard budget presentations and made recommendations to colleagues on how to divide up the money. Proposed amendments to the bylaws. Represented UC Riverside to the UC systemwide Council on Student Fees, eventually becoming the Chair of the Council, and therefore becoming the chief student advocate for all tuition and student fee issues. Ensured the student voice was heard by all relevant stakeholders. Led policy advocacy for the governance of over $350 million in student fees systemwide

Managed a staff of seven to accomplish the strategic priorities of the President. Represented the President’s office at various meetings of constituent groups, administrative groups, and outside stakeholders. Managed the President’s calendar, ensuring limited time was used most effectively to accomplish goals. Wrote reports to many different stakeholders on accomplishments and initiatives.

Served as the Chair of Council on Student Fees, an organization dedicated to student advocacy, through the power of the collective action of the students of the University of California, through the allocation of Student Services Fee funds and oversight of other assessments of fees. Renegotiated Memorandum of Understanding with partner nonprofit to improve terms for both sides. Assisted in the development of a mechanism for a systemwide student referendum.

Interpreted legislation to ensure adherence to governing Constitution, interpreted Constitution to examine whether governmental action was in violation, reviewed grievances filed by students regarding official misconduct, ensured personnel compliance with relevant bylaws, assisted with ensuring elections were administered fairly and in accordance with the relevant bylaws. Handled sensitive student information and complied with FERPA and university policy regarding the storage, disclosure, and use of student educational records. Personally authored and supervised the complete, from-scratch overhaul of the Judicial Rules of Procedure (governing document). Reviewed applications and nominated candidates for Elections Director and Vice President of Finance, and reviewed applications and appointed the inaugural Transfer and Nontraditional Student Director. Appointed and supervised a staff of two who helped ensured the Judicial Branch ran smoothly.

Assisted Senator Richard Roth of CA Senate District 31 in the analysis of legislation in the context of the needs and desires of the residents of Corona, Moreno Valley, Norco, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Riverside, and Perris. Provided general assistance to the Senator and the staff in the Sacramento, California legislative office. Analyzed bills and related information, such as the positions of major constituent groups and trade industries, to assist the Senator in understanding how to vote. Wrote floor speeches for the Senator to introduce bills and motions. Represented the Senator’s office at meetings of other Senators’ staff. Met with constituent groups in the office and on the phone to hear concerns and explain the Senator’s positions.

Prepared various beverages and pastries, provided excellent customer service, ensured store cleanliness. Barista trainer, and part of our store's Quality Assurance Standards Assessment (QASA) team, which ensures store compliance with food safety and workplace safety regulations and company standards.
