I'm a new BEng (Electronics) / BCompSci graduate now seeking a career in technology where I can innovate and push the frontiers of what we can do with computers. My interests are diverse and span the domains of software+hardware+aerospace+systems engineering and cybersecurity.In software engineering, I primarily enjoy native and low-level programming. I pay heavy attention to detail to maximise correctness and user satisfaction. - Experience with graphics programming in software, OpenGL, WebGL, and Direct3D. Have implemented a few basic model renderers, ray tracers, and toy programs in these. - Some experience writing games in C and Unity. - Decent understanding of the features, operation, and performance characteristics of modern processors. - Repeated experience with the Win32 API when I prefer to avoid the use of external libraries. - Basic experience with OpenCL, CUDA, and GPGPU programming. - Repeated experience implementing game modifications from reverse engineered and undocumented code. - Long-term experience and detailed understanding of C, C++, and Javascript. Decent experience in Java and Python. Some experience in SQL, PHP, WebGL, and WebGPU. I aim to understand languages (and systems) at specification level. - Repeated experience in HTML+CSS+JS, presently learning react. - Good understanding of algorithms & data structures, and parallel programming and synchronisation. - Basic experience with sockets and WinSock programming as well at TCP/IP+Ethernet protocol. In hardware engineering, I enjoy processor and digital design as well as embedded systems. - I implemented a Contra clone for a VGA screen on an FPGA that pushed the limits of the hardware, requiring me to employ complex strategies and custom tools. - Implemented an oscilloscope over UART using a Tiva microcontroller. - Knowledge of signals & systems and control systems. Currently refreshing this out of my interest in aerospace engineering.In cybersecurity, I'm interested in binary/malware reverse engineering and defensive/offensive operations. I embrace the mindset of detailed understanding and using details to an advantage. - Basic experience reverse engineering binaries using binary tools and Ghidra. - Have read embedded ARM assembly to find a fault in a given library. - Have implemented game modifications using cheat engine and C. - Knowledge of common attack surfaces and mitigations. I am someone who will be highly committed to their role, doing my best work as someone who cares about the result and wants to maximise their own development.
