- Lead efforts to build Data Warehouse using Hadoop, Hive and Redshift on Amazon's Web Service platforms. Built out data warehouse and core tables for monitoring key business metrics.- Built python-based tool for doing ETL, moving data between production servers, Hadoop data stores, and running automated queries.- Constructed back-end tools to interact with Salesforce.com for validating, controlling, and monitoring incoming lead sourcing for sales staff.

– Identified sources of fraud loss and revenue potential, resulting in an significant impact to annual revenue for Facebook by implementing end-to-end solutions, from analysis to implementation. This includes improving existing machine learning models, building new models, and conducting proper A/B testing to assess impact.– Provided support and data resources for employees in Facebook’s Risk & Payments and User Operations departments. Mentored analysts to work with large quantities of data, conduct proper methodological analyses, and report accurate findings. Supported and consulted with international teams in Asia, Europe, and North America. Additionally, interviewed candidates for both operations and data positions to assess technical skills and cultural fit.– Worked directly with Facebook’s commerce engineering team on a variety of projects involving financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and payments support. This required familiarity with developing on a large-scale PHP driven site and working with petabytes of data. We completed very extensive financial accuracy projects, resulting in extremely large impact for monitoring and financial reporting.– Successfully completed Facebook’s engineering “bootcamp”; a 6 week training program required of all software engineers at Facebook. Training included not only concepts to work with Facebook’s architecture but also methodology and skills to build very large scalable platforms.– In June 2012, was promoted from Data Analyst to full-time Software Engineer position.

- Pursued a PhD at Northwestern University in Computer Science (left before completing PhD). At Northwestern, my research focused on the intersection of game theory and computer science theory - algorithmic game theory and social networks.– Interacted with faculty at Northwestern doing research on social networks, advertising click-thru models, moving object databases, and theoretical computer science.– Spent one year in a high school classroom (at Maine East High School, in Park Ridge Illinois) as a National Science Foundation fellow, teaching analytical and computational thinking skills to high school students. – Designed a web-based software platform to enable Labor Unions to collaborate and more effectively manage their membership; including dues tracking, employer contributions, job tracking, and online remittance processing. Built a client base and implemented the platform to multiple unions in Michigan. This moved Benefit Advisors, Inc. into a new marketplace; from Taft-Hartley Fund Administration services to a hybrid of Information Technology and Taft-Hartley Administration.– Developed intranet applications to enable Benefit Advisors, Inc. to remain compliant with changing regulatory and business environment including Medicare Part D and HIPAA regulations.– In 2005, managed complete overhaul of Information Technology infrastructure during change of facilities. Installed wiring in compliance with municipal code, managed quotes and installation of telecommunications services, and installed open-source VoIP telephony and network application services. This saved Benefit Advisors, Inc. thousands of dollars of long term licensing costs.

– Designed, implemented, and maintained HIPAA-compliant claims platform for JVP Enterprises, Inc. to perform claims payer services for multiple clients and communicate effectively using web applications. This saved JVP Enterprises tens of thousands of dollars of third party software costs and enabled JVP to have more control over their services.(firm was eventually bought out by Benefit Advisors, Inc.)
