Supporting delivery of timely and high-quality cancer care across the Midlands, by making insights from data accessible to operational and non-analytical colleagues. I believe that quality improvement and patient/resident safety are best progressed by drawing out the stories behind figures and statistics.Previous responsibilities have included a focus on risk and incident management, including technical design and implementation of risk management systems (Radar and RLDatix). This has encompassed mortality, complaints, risk registers, claims, whistle-blowing, DoLS, and safety alerts. Designing reports for all levels of the organisation, from detailed Board reports to simplified dashboards for non-analysts. I have defined strategy and policy relating to incidents (including serious incident investigation), duty of candour and learning lessons, and have held the role of nominated Records Manager.• Experienced across NHS and private health and social care settings, including acute NHS teaching trust, secure mental health sites, CAMHS services, and residential and nursing care homes.• All settings have been at scale - 1,600 acute NHS beds across three main sites / 20,000 patients and residents across 450 private sites.• Worked under a variety of regulatory regimes across all four UK home nations, Jersey, and Isle of Man.• I enjoy working with diverse groups, from clinical colleagues to support teams to senior leaders, directors and board members, individually and as a long-standing member/chair of care quality and governance committees.• Fully project-managed incident reporting implementations, including policy writing, IT system design and build, delivering staff training, compliance with national and local standards, and sharing learning.• Soft skills developed while consulting with teams and delivering training complement the technical rigour instilled by my scientific PhD.• A research background has enabled me to develop collaborations with universities on topics such as falls, antimicrobial stewardship, and COVID-19.
