Hayes Slade is a Principal of Slade Architecture and a Past President of the AIA NY Chapter. In 2002, Hayes and James Slade founded Slade Architecture. They create thoughtful and impactful architecture at all scales based on a considered examination of the project context in its broadest sense including the program potential, user perspective, and material sensibility. Their work has been widely published and recognized with design awards including AIA Design Awards, Interior Design Magazine Best of Year awards, London International Creative Competition Awards, a NYC Design Commission Design Excellence Award, SARA Awards, and FX Awards, among others. In 2010, Slade Architecture was included in the Architectural League of New York’s Emerging Voices program. Hayes has exhibited, lectured and served on design juries in the US and abroad.Passionate about creating an ethical future, she strives to bring her energy and expertise to causes that weave a passion for design and a better future together. Along those lines, Hayes serves on the Board of Grace Farms Foundation and the Advisory Committee for Interior Design at FIT in addition to the work at her firm.
