Growing up, there was never one particular career that I always envisioned for myself. However, one thing that was always clear was that wherever I ended up, I needed to have a purpose. Naturally, studying Public Health and diving into the comprehensive world of healthcare seemed like an obvious choice.After graduating from Oregon State University, I got my first taste of the healthcare world by working in administrative roles in various medical clinics specializing in ophthalmology and dermatology. My initial plan was to get my foot in the door and then decide whether I should return to school for nursing or pursue a master's in Public Health. Unsurprisingly, the universe had other plans for me. I stumbled into the evolving world of aesthetic medicine and never looked back.As I mentioned earlier, my ultimate goal in life was to have a purpose and find a career that "filled my cup," so to speak. I thought that healthcare was the obvious answer because what is more self-sacrificing than a career dedicated to nurturing and healing others? What I realized, however, is that facilitating an experience where people come to love and nurture themselves healed me.So here I am, almost six years post-grad in an alternate universe to where I thought I would be.
