In this role, I effectively managed a range of Early Years and Gardening products by negotiating price, exclusivity, quantities, and terms with suppliers from all over the world, both domestically and on a Free on Board (FOB) basis. I also provided excellent support to the Buyers working within our Category, accompanying them to supplier meetings, contacting suppliers for pricing and taking care of the admin for the team.Drawing upon my experience in sales analysis, I identified patterns and trends in product sales, making informed decisions to include or remove products from my ranges. I worked collaboratively with the marketing and web team to ensure that campaigns were developed and launched on schedule, and communicated progress updates efficiently. I also attended in person events with the marketing team, proactively selling our products to nurseries, schools and private individuals.As part of my role, I compiled and presented data reports, including a comprehensive competitor analysis, to Buyers and managers. I also managed the master data for our products across two platforms (Step and SAP), ensuring that both systems were accurate before the catalogue was sent to print. I demonstrated meticulous attention to detail when reviewing mock-up pages of the catalogue, ensuring accuracy of pricing, product codes, and product information.I wrote persuasive copy for our product category, emphasising the benefits of the products for the end user while including all relevant details. I also worked closely with suppliers, resolving queries, and addressing any issues with supplier invoices.I provided training and assistance to junior team members and collaborated with other departments to improve internal processes and increase efficiency.
