Hayley Kellard Email and Phone Number
Hi, I’m Hayley Kellard, multi award winning disabled entrepreneur, founder of Dotty About Braille, an online business specialising in personalised braille greetings cards that are fully accessible to blind and visually impaired people, along with transcribed documents, leaflets and labels.I’m a proud member of The Lilac Review Steering Board and am keen to help improve processes and opportunities for disabled entrepreneurs. I volunteer for Manchester Sight Loss Council (part of Thomas Pocklington Trust) and we advocate for visually impaired people in the Greater Manchester area. This is a new role for me but I’m very excited to get involved and help make change in my local area. I’m visually impaired having been born with a rare eye condition called Wagner’s Syndrome. I was also diagnosed with POTS in 2019 and this has had a big impact on my day to day life. Balancing being an entrepreneur and having an unpredictable condition can be hard but I believe my drive and ambition keep me moving forward. I’m a proud member of the Speed of Sight Inspire 25 Club and a portion of my revenue each month goes towards supporting this fantastic charity. I was part of Small Business Saturday's SmallBiz100 list for 2023 and f:Entrepreneur's #IAlso2024 list of inspiring female entrepreneurs. I was chosen for Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday award in June 2023.

Online Course CreatorHayley Kellard Sep 2021 - Jan 2023I developed online courses catering to women seeking to boost their confidence, explore spirituality, and enhance their organisational skills. This involved creating written course content, workbook pages and video content.I conducted in-depth market research to identify competitors, analyse trends and identify opportunities.I carried out successful marketing campaigns through a weekly email newsletter, as well as leveraging Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok platforms. To further enhance the customer experience, I hosted regular live video sessions on Facebook for deeper engagement and sales growth, this really pushed me out of my comfort zone and developed public speaking skills.I generated visually appealing content; graphics, lead magnets, slides for webinars, and PDF documents on Canva and Photoshop. I created informative course videos and short-form video content tailored for Instagram and TikTok.Although this business was short lived, it provided valuable learning opportunities and enabled me to make a positive impact on the lives of the women who enrolled in my courses.

Managing DirectorHappily Rustic Ltd Jan 2021 - Dec 2022I created an e-commerce business, selling on Etsy, eBay, and my own website (hosted on Shopify), gaining a position among the top 1% shops on Etsy and successfully sold over 10,000 handmade products across 32 countries, resulting in revenue exceeding £200,000 over a four year period - most of this time I worked on my own on a part time basis, whilst managing a difficult and unpredictable chronic illness.I was the first person in the UK to sell wood slice photo gifts at this level, with a whole range including plaques of various sizes, keyrings, fridge magnets, hanging ornament and coasters. I applied a pricing strategy based on cost analysis and a targeted profit margin, achieving an impressive 50-60% margin range. My extensive four year experience in digital marketing enabled me to carry out diverse marketing campaigns, including email marketing, paid and organic marketing on Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, resulting in effective promotion during peak seasons such as Christmas and Father's Day.I created a professional and user-friendly website that ranked among the top results on the first page of Google for relevant keywords. I provided exceptional customer service through email and telephone communication, I received hundreds of 5-star reviews across all platforms, and even received a WOW award from Jacqueline Gold CBE.I carefully managed inventory by sourcing supplies both locally and internationally, negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers, and maintaining a comprehensive stock log to prevent stock shortages.I closed this business in December 2022 for several reasons but I'm very proud of what I achieved, during a very difficult time in my life. -
