I currently serve as the Research and Evaluation Program Coordinator for the Portland Public Health Division (PHD). The Research and Evaluation Program (REP) serves several functions for the PHD focusing on research, public health surveillance, analysis and interpretation of public health data, and program evaluation. Additionally, I serve as the Accreditation Coordinator and direct and manage Public Health Accreditation activities for Portland Public Health, ensuring alignment with national standards and fostering continuous improvement in public health practices.

As a Research Associate for the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE), I conducted qualitative research with study participants and physicians on a wide range of topics including, but not limited to precision medicine, genomic tumor testing, advanced heart failure, uncertainty in health care, and cancer.

As a Public Health Associate at the Yellowstone City-County Health Department dba RiverStone Health in Billings, Montana I worked on behalf of Healthy by Design, a community coalition that works to collaborate with partners across sectors of the community to promote and improve health. In this role, I supported the completion of the Community Health Needs Assessment and subsequent Community Health Improvement Plan. Additionally, I worked in partnership with the United Way of Yellowstone County to develop an online resource directory to increase access to health and social services in Montana.

As a Learning Communities Graduate Assistant, I supervised 12 undergraduate academic support staff responsible for in-house academic programming for over 600 students; managed $6,300 programming budget.I developed and implemented training modules for staff on topics such as conflict management and program planning and implementation. Additionally, I completed weekly assessments of Peer Mentor interactions with first-year students and oversaw the operation and management of two Residential Academic Support Centers.

As a Program Intern, I supported the development of a school-based mental and behavioral health clinic as part of the Innovative School Care Coordination for High Risk Populations Grant.Additionally, I identified professional development opportunities for school nurses to identify, refer, treat, and follow-up with students suffering from mental illness.

As a Policy Intern, I composed and maintained content on the National Medical Homes Map and the Accountable Care Organizations Map on the NASHP website. Additionally, I conducted background research on medical homes and accountable care organizations across the United States to assist staff members with article preparation.

As a Research Education Department Intern, I created presentations and posters directed towards female veterans on services provided by the VA utilizing health literacy practices. Additionally, I supported the writing of policy proposals addressing female veterans’ utilization rates within the VA based on the findings of a needs assessment conducted with female veterans.

As a Peer Health Educator, I collaborated with other student-run groups to design and implement programs targeted toward increasing awareness of student health concerns such as stress, alcohol and other drugs, domestic violence, sexual health, and nutrition. I designed programs and posters to be facilitated throughout campus and presented when requested.Completed Trainings: Cultural Competency and Motivational Interviewing

I was elected to the Chair of the Ways and Means Committee by peers in Fall 2013 and supervised ten student leaders. Together, the Committee appropriated approximately 2.7 million dollars to 200+ student groups through a rigorous application and interview process. Lastly, I created weekly meeting’s agenda and facilitated weekly 2+ hour meetings.

As a Resident Assistant, I provided in-house support to First-Year students at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. In doing so, I created and developed a positive living environment designed to link community, faculty, and residents. I promoted academic excellence, addressed student needs, and acted as supportive resource for both. Lastly, I communicated & collaborated with on and off-campus offices such as counseling, health services, student activities, campus security, maintenance, and academic departments.Completed Trainings: LGBTQIA, Title IX, Diversity, Bias, Conflict Resolution, and Problem Solving

I was elected to the Speaker of the Student Government Association by peers in the spring of 2012 for the 2012 – 2013 academic year. As Speaker, I supervised 50 elected student senators and oversaw multiple student-run projects pertaining to improving student life and academic success on campus. Additionally, I facilitated weekly meetings with campus administrators, faculty, and student leaders across campus.
