ContactPoint and eCAF were/are IT systems that supported the work of professionals who work with children and young people. ContactPoint provided users with a quick way to find out who else is working with the same child or young person, the aim being to enable coordinated support. eCAF is an online assessment tool which practitioners used to gain a holistic view of a child, young person or family and request relevant support. ContactPoint is a national system and I was part of the team that implemented and managed ContactPoint in Reading. eCAF is a local system that was implemented throughout 2010 and early 2011.I was responsible for planning and delivering training, identifying potential users, networking with organisations and encouraging them to engage with the ContactPoint and eCAF projects.
