Under the guidance of their special ed teachers, gen ed teachers, and principal, I provide instructional support to children in the public school setting. Per each child's IEP, I organize and adjust assignments, provide necessary accommodations, take data on academic and behavioral trends, and utilize trauma-informed strategies for building social-emotional learning and de-escalating behavioral episodes. In addition, I assist children with developmental disabilities in toileting/diapering and the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices. In this position, every day presents an opportunity to exercise my flexibility in the face of schedule changes, quick thinking in response to behavioral escalations, and resilience to do whatever it takes to help a child find the solution to their problem, or at least to smile.

I provided direct services to preschool-aged autistic children in their homes and schools. Specifically, I utilized play-based, naturalistic, and relationship-centered methods of behavioral intervention to help them develop and strengthen skills in communication and coping mechanisms for stress. Every couple of weeks, I would meet with the child's treatment team (including lead therapist and program manager) and family to discuss and develop the child's treatment plan.

Under the supervision of NewBridge case managers, I supported their mission of providing a "successful bridge to aging for older adults". I conducted assessments and consultations at clients' homes, developed individualized service plans, documented my interactions in case notes, and coordinated with various agencies to connect them to services, including transportation, nutrition, and mental health counseling. Through these interactions with clients and agencies, I utilized my studies in human development and public policy and built upon my interpersonal skills to form trusting bonds with clients and get to know their histories to help them shape their futures.

I was contracted by various state departments to conduct phone interviews with respondents, collect and enter data, and prepare mailed surveys.

I assisted infant, toddler, preschool, and Pre-K teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate routines and activities for the children. I guided children through hygienic practices, conflict management, and transitions between activities, and I communicated the events of the day to parents upon their arrival for pick-up.
