Beamline Architect will use a drag-and-drop user interface to build a virtual accelerator. Instead of memorizing commands from different software languages, users will be able to simply click on the element that they want. After building a channel, Beamline Architect will be able to run the simulation. When the results are ready, the user can then use our interface to plot the data in Python.

This project required creating an algorithm for calculating the mass moment of inertia (MMI) for an alternator rotor. The final product was able to take parameters supplied by a parent MATLAB program that defined the dimensions and orientation of the rotating component of the alternator, and calculated the moment for that specific parameter set. In order to maximize speed and efficiency in the calculation, the main program was written in MATLAB, which also allowed for seamless integration into the alternator optimization program.
