In 2014 I was employed as an advertorial features writer and part-time journalist at a bi-weekly newspaper in Bunbury - WA's second largest city. I wrote advertorial content and news stories for the South Western Times and Bunbury Herald each week. Three months into my cadetship I was promoted to the position of journalist, working full-time on the news.

I was a freelance contributor to the Perth's music street-press X-Press Magazine. I wrote music and food event reviews, album reviews, artist interviews and articles on (mostly) electronic music.

The Curtin Leadership Centre offers leadership development training for students via online and face to face training and volunteer experience.I was involved with the centre since it's inception in 2012, first as a Training Coordinator and then as Project Officer. As a Training Coordinator I helped to research, write and develop online leadership training.

I was a participant in the Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesia Studies journalism professional practicum in Jakarta in 2013. The program included a two-week intensive language, culture and history course at Atma Jaya University in Jakarta and a four-week journalism internship with The Jakarta Globe. The Globe is an English language daily.

As Grok editor, I edited six, bimonthly issues of Grok – the Curtin University Student Guild magazine. I managed a team of creative writers and journalists including food and music reviewers. I worked closely with with the Guild graphic designer on layout decisions, an illustrator to create the Grok covers and an external photography company for images.

Manager of the inaugural Urban Market, a farmer’s, arts and crafts market, including the development of the market's mission statement, branding and marketing, local government approval, occupational health and safety standards while recruiting more than 25 local food, art and craft vendors. I then coordinated the weekly markets for a series of weeks.
