I have been involved in scouting as an adult leader since 1995, and in 2007 I was selected to be the Unit Leader for the Jersey Contingent of scouts and guides who attended the World Scout Jamboree in Chelmsford. 40,000 scouts and guides gathered from around the world for a 12 day celebration.The 3rd Jersey is open to both girls and boys aged from 6 - 14 years old. We do lots of activities including camping, firelighting, and outdoor visits to name a few.With over 170 young people meeting on a Monday evening in two locations, my role as Group Scout Leader is quite a busy one! Not only do I co-ordinate the Groups activities, but I also run one of the Cub Packs.We are always looking for additional support from adults, and i am happy to speak to anyone about the opportunities.

Responsible for the administration of the Jersey Scout Association and our volunteer leaders. Based at the Jersey Scout Centre, Five Mile Road, St Ouen, we welcome both Scouting and non-Scouting Groups to stay in our centre.Also responsible for overseeing the Island media team and look at the strategies to develop Jersey Scouting and towards our 2018 vision. Scouting in Jersey is thriving, with nearly 1000 members aged from 6 years old to adult leader volunteers. We are always looking for new leaders, and therefor get in contact if you interested! JEND (Jersey Employer's Network on Disability) was formed in 1998. We are solely funded by subscriptions and sponsorship donations for specific projects. We work very closely with many of the local support agencies and as such are involved in policy development as well as working parties. When the British Irish Council visited Jersey a few years ago to research the supported employment model in place at the time JEND were invited to present and contribute to the process.In accordance with our constitution, JEND operates through a committee, chosen by its members, and meet on a regular basis throughout the year. The aim of JEND is to enable an increasing number of individuals with a disability to: Remain in Work, Return to WorkGain, Employment.By working together with a growing number of employers and in partnership with local support agencies. When we talk about individuals with a disability we are including degenerative illness, serious illness as well as more traditionally recognised disabilities. We are always seeking to increase our membership which covers most business sectors, including large corporates, small businesses, Jersey Government and local charities.
