Hayley Pappas is a critically-acclaimed producer, director, and creative executive with 10+ years industry experience on more than 40 produced titles including multiple Academy Award-nominated nonfiction films. Her work has premiered at Sundance, Cannes, and Tribeca among others and has appeared in theaters and across streaming platforms, as well as premium cable television. Most recently Hayley directed the four-part HBO Original docuseries, BREATH OF FIRE, which paints a portrait of a seeker turned guru and examines the complicated intersection of spirituality and capitalism. The series premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and debuted on Max at #2. Recent notable credits include: WHITE HOT which debuted at #1 on Netflix (2022); FLEE which made history by receiving three Academy Award nominations for international feature, documentary feature, and animated feature (2021); the FX original AKA JANE ROE (2020); the fly-on-the-wall chronicle of Steve Bannon THE BRINK (2019); and the Sundance Award-winning and Academy Award Shortlisted ON HER SHOULDERS (2018).Previously, Hayley ran the Emmy Award-winning, Academy Award–nominated film studio, RYOT Films, for over 5 years, prior to and through its acquisition by Verizon Media. There she launched and led an 8-figure film fund and curated slates of thought-provoking content from visionary filmmakers. Her experience extends into immersive formats, where she made over a dozen XR films with partners such as NPR and the Associated Press, as well as branded content, where she produced premium films with Apple and Gatorade. Hayley graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California where she studied Communication and Cinematic Arts.
