I am responsible for all Marketing and Communications activity within Waterman Aspen. Social media, video production and brochure design. I design, build, update and modernise the website using Wordpress. I am also familiar with Search Engine Optimisation and Google Analytics. I create all articles, press releases and adverts and use Adobe Design Suite CC software to create various advertising materials including banner stands, display boards and recruitment advertisements. I am responsible for designing all promotional items and peripherals including calendars, pens, coasters, mugs, cloth bags, USB sticks etc. I also source these items and co-ordinate the distribution to our managers and to our clients countrywide. Effective communications is a key part of my role to ensure that all our staff are fully up to speed on what is taking place within the company. This is especially important as most of our staff are isolated within other organisations offices. I therefore produce a company wide newsletter called The Grapevine that is circulated to all staff quarterly.I am also involved in pulling together Pre Qualification Questionnaires, tenders and bids on behalf of the company and regularly update the bank of information we hold for the production of such documents. I organise for the company to attend conferences, exhibitions and fairs and arrange all the necessary logistics for exhibiting at these events also. I represent the company on the exhibition stand at these events and enjoy mixing with clients and potential clients in order to raise the profile of Waterman Aspen to create new business. I prepare marketing documents such as capability statements, bulletins and the company brochure to ensure that our company is effectively marketed in the different disciplines and areas in which we operate. I also do research, and am involved in Business Development to constantly build our client and candidate database.

My role as Marketing Manager involved carrying out all of the marketing activity for the Secure division within Priory and making all the decisions involved with the marketing, PR and advertising. This encompassed designing and writing the copy for all of the promotional brochures and literature for Priory Secure Services, as well as writing copy for the website and promotional newsletters and press releases. I was also responsible for managing the marketing budget and ensuring all purchases are made according to this budget. I made all the necessary arrangements for Priory to exhibit at the most high profile conferences and exhibitions and liaised directly with Pavilion events in the management of a conference held in December 07, of which Priory were the lead sponsors. I liaised directly with our customers to build relationships and maintain their custom with the Priory. I also regularly carried out research on the market conditions and was responsible for the service development by looking for gaps in the market and making recommendations as to what services Priory should move into. Prior to my role as Marketing Manager, I was Business Development Manager for Meadow Lodge Hospital, Widnes My role as Business Development Manager was to build relationships with key clients in order to bring in either individual or block contracts for the provision of services for patients. As the hospital was being built up from scratch, I contacted and met with many clients in order to promote the hospital and raise the awareness and profile of the new hospital. I also worked closely with the Management Team for Priory and with other Business Development Managers on the promotion of the other Priory Hospitals and the promotion of the new Hospital.

I was involved in all areas of marketing and business development within the department and I had excellent knowledge of all the aspects set out in the marketing plan. My main role involved dealing with referrals that came into the hospital via NHS Secure Service Commissioners and other sources such as prisons, community mental health teams and other hospitals. Due to the fast past nature of the market, we had to move quickly in order to bring patients in and be ahead of the competition. It was also key to build up strong and effective links to ensure a constant stream of referrals. I liaised directly with Heads of Commissioning to maintain the reputation of the hospital and build new business. I also sourced all of the promotional items for the hospital group (3 sites) and dealt with the designing of marketing literature, business cards and leaflets. I was also the “database champion”, meaning that I dealt with the updating and sourcing of databases to ensure our records were constantly accurate and in date. I regularly attended various conferences and exhibitions as the stand manager for Alpha Hospitals, promoting the services that Alpha Hospitals had to offer and dealing with enquiries about their facilities. I had regular dealings with the Home Office in relation to the Mental Health Act and prison / hospital transfers and maintain a good understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983. I was also in charge of co-ordinating meetings with key professionals, arranging conference logistics, travel planning and arranging all of the details when planning an event.
