I look after the boys and games division of Mattel. The brands which I manage include: Hotwheels, Cars 2, Matchbox, Batman, Toy Story, Uno, Pictionary, Angry Birds and Scrabble to name a few. I am responsible for planning the marketing activities for my brands which include TV advertising and planning, catalogue creation, instore execution and branding, liasing with retailers to gain insights into the market as well as monitoring the brands performance and image in the market place.

I worked in the marketing and communications department at BME (pty) Ltd where my duties included corporate brand building, co-managing a large brand portfolio, liasing with advertising agencies, conference and event planning as well as internal and external communication to the various African countries in which BME operates.

Sustainabilty consultant. Think Through helps small and large businesses to adopt deep strategic CSR as opposed to compliant CSR. The company focuses on how to integrate a relevant CSR strategy into the organisation, aligning the CSR initiatives to the business values and culture. Think Through works closely with senior management to integrate a relevant CSR strategy that comes from the heart of the organisation.

As part of my degree requirements, we were required to intern at an agency of our choice. I spent a month at King James working on campaigns such as Allen Grey, Steers and Dulux. I attended meetings, strategy sessions and advertising shoots in order to get an understanding of how the agency structure operates.
