EventScotland is the national events agency, and is a directorate within VisitScotland, Scotland’s national tourism agency. EventScotland was established in 2002 with the aim of strengthening and promoting Scotland’s events industry to contribute directly to sustainable economic growth. EventScotland does this by attracting, generating and sustaining a portfolio of world class events in Scotland. I provided essential project support to the Golf / Ryder Cup team as well as support the delivery of EventScotland’s golf event commitments and the future development of the golf event portfolio. Specific areas of responsibility included liaising with supported events, issuing contracts, supporting the management of project planning tools, providing administrative and secretarial support, administration of contacts databases and files, coordination of meetings, travel and providing wider support across the team’s marketing, PR and event delivery activities. Specifically supporting the development and delivery of ticketing and guest management programmes at all golf events including The 2014 Ryder Cup.
