About Hayli Nicole

The last four years have been filled with soul-enriching travels, collaborations, business ventures, creative endeavors, and calling several countries home. Since leaving San Diego in 2015, I have had the privilege of pouring my time, attention, and energy into my creative dreams while supporting communities, initiatives, and artists around the world. • I volunteered with an organization aimed at orangutan conservation in the rainforests of Sumatra.• I traveled to Myanmar to document the lives of Buddhist nuns to aide funding for a water well to support other nunneries in their community.• I wrote content full-time for Amazon Affiliates websites. I learned how to manage and design websites through Wordpress and quickly became a sponge for driving organic traffic through SEO. • I helped launch Pilgrim Magazine in June 2018 as the Co-Curator of Stories. I have worked closely with authors around the world whose primary language isn’t English to get their stories into the hands of a broader audience.• In August 2018, I launched the Connected Creative, which is creative writing retreats held domestically and internationally for people wanting to travel while harnessing their artistic expression to foster deeper connections to their environments and experiences. • Finally, in November of 2019, I self-published my first collection of poetry, distributing limited edition copies to people across ten countries. I taught myself every step in the process, including cover design, editing, ISBN management, and formatting for multiple book distribution platforms. I achieved all of this while exploring Western Europe using Dublin as a home base, venturing to the edge of the rainforest in Sumatra, living on a boat sailing through the Komodo Islands between Flores and Lombok in Indonesia, walking the Camino del Norte in Spain, volunteering at an eco-lodge in Morocco, and finally grounding down in my hometown of San Diego.Four years of freelance work and location independence has taught me time management skills, attention to detail, and organization learned beyond a formal workplace. I have developed resourcefulness in overcoming problems and adversity on my own, which as a full-time traveler, you encounter almost daily. I've become a more confident and effective communicator, using precise language in both written and verbal communication. I've come to understand the importance of collaboration and how to implement smaller steps while nourishing individual strengths to accomplish personal and professional goals. I love helping people succeed. Simple as that.
