As a member of Seeley International's Imagineering department, I contributed to the research and development of innovative products for Seeley's world leading evaporative cooler range. I was involved in the full design process ranging from design for injection molding, prototyping and testing to the productionisation of consumer ready products.

As the face of a global winery such as Peter Lehmann Wines, it is important to be presentable, professional, and be able to work well within a small team whilst also having the confidence to educate large groups of people. I have taken this as an opportunity to work on my presentation, communication, and people skills; whilst simultaneously observing the management and engineering systems in place throughout the winery.

As the Team Manager of 23 mechanical engineering students designing, building, then racing a solar-powered electric vehicle in the 2015 World Solar Challenge, it was my job to oversee the entire project. This position not only exposed me to all the systems of the car and the methods involved in their construction, but also several media, marketing, and logistical planning initiatives. As the head of the aerodynamics and structures subsystem, it was my job to oversee and participate in the completion of the external and internal structural components of the vehicle to ensure the vehicle was sufficiently light weight and aerodynamic, without hindering its safety. This largely meant using composite materials such as carbon fiber and fiberglass. I was also responsible for the top down assembly 3D model (Inventor 2015) as well as the complete design and build processes of the safety cage and the acrylic canopy of the vehicle which involved 3D modelling, 3D analyses and creating working drawings. As part of the Handmade team, I have worked at waiting tables, setting up and running a bar, food preparation, dealing with unruly behaviour, helping new team members to settle in and working 15+ hour days. I have held a wide range of responsibilities during my time at Handmade including several leadership roles.

As part of the Solar Racing Car's manufacture, we manufactured all the composite structures of the vehicle ourselves (with their support). I was personally involved in all builds of the car including design, build, management of build, test, and verification of design; giving me a wide range of composite knowledge and experience that the University does not offer at this stage.

Working on the reverse engineering of a P-40 fighter from wrecked parts and old drawings to bring a 1940's plane back to life. This heavily involved 3D modelling skills using Catia V5 and an understanding of the manufacturing processes involved. Team leader of a conceivability investigation into the reproduction of a WWI Sopwith Pup fighter using the materials and skills available.
