Makeshift.io is a London-based startup studio founded by Stef Lewandowski, Paul Birch and Nick Marsh. With an in-house team of hackers, designers and operators, we built, tested and rapidly iterated a series of products based on internal research, investing resources in those that showed early traction.My role was focused on the following key areas:• customer development• growth, sales and revenue• business development and external partnershipsDuring my time we progressed three main products from a cohort of twelve MVP products:• HireMyFriend.io• Attending.io• Wrangler.io

I joined SoundCloud as part of the founding pre-launch team and over 5 years played my role in growing it into the leading online sound platform with over 250m monthly users and over 10hrs of audio uploaded every minute. My role included:• Guide overall content strategy and vision as member of SoundCloud’s senior management team• Hire and lead an international content team across London, Berlin, New York and San Francisco• Establish and develop partnerships with key music and audio content partners globally• Evangelise SoundCloud within the content industry ecosystem

Music Hack Day is a global hackathon where app developers, designers and hackers come together with artists, tech platforms and the music industry to build the future of music in just 24hrs. Over 40 Music Hack Days have now taken place in more than 15 cities including London, San Francisco, Sydney, Barcelona, Reykyavik and New York.• Conceived and grew the event to become the standard for music hackathons• Lead organiser for five individual events at The Guardian and Barbican (London) and Midem (Cannes)• Secured participation from companies including Last.fm, BBC, 7digital, Songkick, EMI• Secured brand sponsorship from companies including Telefonica, Red Bull, Vodafone, Sonos and Universal Music• Helped build and co-ordinate a network of organisers responsible for growing the event internationally• Evangelized the role and importance of emerging tech, open APIs and developers within the music industry ecosystem

Broad Street Digital is a subsidiary of Arbinet (NASDAQ:ARBX) specialising in the digital distribution of music to over 180 licensees through its Rightsrouter software platform. The company was acquired by RoyaltyShare in August 2008. • Acquisition and management of 400+ new and existing labels including content aggregators and other clients using the Rightsrouter digital distribution software• Worked with key licensees in both online and mobile channels including iTunes, 7digital, Amazon, Napster, VidZone and Beatport• Managed new release schedules and digital marketing initiatives for priority partners

Finetunes is a leading digital music and content distributor headquartered in Germany. The company provides content distribution, label management and frontline marketing services for independent record labels. • Setup and established Finetunes 'business in the UK• Acquired and managed relationships with over 200+ independent labels• Oversaw new and existing business with UK-based digital music services• Represented Finetunes at trade shows, conferences and UK industry associations including AIM

ClickGroove was an early online music destination selling MP3 downloads for electronic music fans. Included sister-site, ClickProduce, an online marketplace allowing artists/producers to purchase digital sample packs, loops and sound fx. ClickGroove was acquired in 2007 by SE13 Downloads and ran alongside other sites including XpressBeats.com and DJ Magazine.• Managed small but dedicated team of freelance developers, designers and two full-time staff• Negotiated licensing deals to sell digital downloads from over 5000 labels including aggregators and rightsholders such The Orchard, INgrooves, IODA, Kudos and the PRS• Oversaw all marketing initiatives including tour sponsorships, magazine advertising and Google Adwords spend
