I started work at HTI as an intern immediately after leaving University and progressed into the design team. My job consists of the following:• Carrying out field research, forecasting trends, producing mood boards for the research & development of new brands & products• Designing pram fabrics for Hello Kitty, Minnie Mouse, M&P & Silver Cross• Designing & implementing style guides across a wide range of brands & licenses• Designing and outputting the graphics for the 2000m² UK showroom; including headers, slat wall graphics, packaging and showroom theatre. I also create the graphics for the showrooms in Hong Kong and Germany• I design catalogue pages for Argos, Smyths, Tesco, Littlewoods. My pages generate million's for the company; for brands such as Silver Cross, M&P, Hello Kitty, Chad Valley & JCB• Designing adverts for trade & consumer magazines such Peppa Pig, Frozen, MLP & Teletubbies• Trade leaflets & company brochures for UK and international• Press packs and POS material, including CDU’s and FSDU's• Designing and producing packaging in mass amounts• Planning & designing graphics for HTI’s trade shows in London, Birmingham and Nuremberg• Creating new logos & style guides for HTI's own brands• Assisting & directing photoshoots• Designing the new packaging for M&P & Silver Cross Jr prams. I also designed the new fabrics for our new range of M&P children's prams, all approved, from scratch, in 2 days• Designs & ideas for a very old school brand; Sindy • Designing the Tonka window display for Hamleys• Product concepts for Disney Princess, JCB, Blaze, Super 4, SX, M&P, My Little Pony, Pokemon, YoKai, Cars, Desendants, Twirlywoos, • Styling for HTI's TV adverts; brands include Fozen, M&P and My Little Pony

After a few months of working in HTI’s design department, I moved in the marketing sector of the company. The change still allowed me to put my creative side to good use with being a key part of the brand team, whilst at the same I was able to develop a new and exciting skill set. My job consisted of the following:• Writing articles for toy trade magazines and press releases to support our latest products and licenses• Creating and keeping up to date the company’s online blog and twitter account• Assisting on the design, development and maintenance of HTI’s website• Product research, analysis and competition shopping for R&D purposes.• Organising HTI’s stand at the UK’s largest toy fair in London. Not only did I work behind the scenes, I was also asked to front the 3 day event as stand receptionist• Dealing with a variety of high profile customers such as ELC, Tesco, Argos and Toys R Us.• I found communication played a very important part in my job role; I am without a doubt a people person and would regularly have to converse with employees, suppliers and customers both in the UK and overseas. Our other offices are based in Hong Kong, China and Germany.

I have previously worked as a freelance Fashion and Graphic Designer for clothing label, Burn N Violet. Both my skills and experience grew dramatically whilst being a part of the team, I was able to explore my creative side in great depth and truly let my ideas and imagination come alive in my work. I knew when developing a brief to bare in mind brand considerations, target consumer and to work within a budget. Being a key part of the team, I was made very much aware of the fast paced environment, critical decisions, time restrictions and the clear importance of communication the fashion industry craves. My job consisted of the following:• Designing clothing and accessories for sporting brand Renthal.• Designing a collection of men’s t-shirts for the World Wildlife Fund.
