I am passionate about working towards a sustainable and fair world for all. I am a Practitioner Member of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment), working as BTO's Sustainability Officer and representative on the Cambridge Conservation Initiative Sustainability group. As part of my role at BTO I work to encourage people to get involved in understanding and monitoring wildlife, which is extremely important for building connections with nature and in turn protecting biodiversity. I am survey organiser for Nesting Neighbours and Support Officer for Ringing and Nest Record Schemes & Acoustic Pipeline. Outside of work I am an elected Town and District Councillor, chairing the town council's Community & Environmental Services committee and I organise a local community group for those who care about sustainability and the environment. Working on local issues we collaborate with local people, councils, community groups and businesses. We believe that through working together we can bring about a brighter future for everyone. I organise an annual Green Fair event focusing on sustainable living; with the aims of supporting local, sustainable businesses and educating people on environmental and social issues. During the spring months you will likely find me monitoring and ringing the chicks in a large set of nest boxes at a local farm. I started studying Japanese in January 2020 and am working towards taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
