I volunteer for the centre which provides support for the disadvantaged and homeless in Salford. I support them in office function which I have built a Microsoft Access database to record client visits and support given. From this I have produced various reports which is fundamental to help the Board Directors with funding applications.

Manchester improvement programme - I contributed in creating and various finance processes and the usage of SAP. I reviewed and standardised the to-be process documentation for the Finance management SIP and advised on the completion of the 'to be' processes.

My role was within Migrations/Continuous improvement team in Business Development department. I was a Key representative and a point of contact for various interfaces including Local site leads, Shared service Operations and Outsourcing company project team and driving them to achieve project goals. I effectively managed stakeholder expectations by conducting regular status meetings and reports.As I had worked for Tetra Pak for many years previously I provided Shared Service process and Tetra Pak knowledge to the Finance outsourcing company when required. One of my key tasks was to carry out Work-shadowing, local site AS IS processes and to make comparisons with the standard Shared Service processes, thus identifying and addressing process and system issues and GAPS. From the As-Is analysis I designed the best practise TO BE processes whilst taking into account the local legal and statutory requirements these included costing/settlements, VAT, INTRASTAT and Intercompany Re-billing processes.Continuous Improvements - I have lead continuous improvement projects working with the Outsourcer and Local site leads to ensure there is a rigid payment control process from an audit prospective incorporating the use of reports within SAP and banking system. I also improved and standardised the PTP process documentation with the Outsourcing Company.As I lead two projects this gave me the opportunity to produce project documents according to PRINCE 2 methodology (project requests, PID's, business cases, project plans, and status reports)Post Implementation Audit reviews - I visited local site's including US and China to ensure the standard process was being adhered to and that the interaction between local site and outsourcer is efficient. Also visited the outsourcer and auditing the services they are provided according to standard process, KPI and SLA's

Within my role at M&S I was the SAP Super user - which included formal training sessions with team. I also carried out various reconciliations of control accounts and various interfaces into SAP.I gained experience and developed reports on Debit balances and compiled quarterly creditor information.One of my main tasks was to produce Daily Forecasts of payments made to the Group Treasury department; this was done to very tight deadlines and relied on accurate information. KPI's are an important tool within the shared services environment and I reported these to the Management team on a monthly basis, and ensured the team completed the data information accurately and promptly.

Although I was only at Robert McBride for a long time I soon became a SAP Super user from my previous knowledge. I gained experience in Commercial Finance and my tasks included Accounting for amounts owed and payments made, to customers under their specific scheme. At my time with the company I reduced the backlog of claims by 80%

During my time at Tetra Pak I developed myself and progressed from a PTP Processor to The Technical Specialist and a vital support to the PtP team of 23 processors 3 ream leaders and the Process Owner. The role was to be the 'expert' in systems including SAP R/3 , scanning/workflow, the International banking system and processes of the Purchase to Pay department. This also included supporting any Client market company queries relating to system and process at various levels. I developed a Training programme and carried out appropriate systems and process training for members of the PTP team, including new starters. I created and maintained new starter training packs-including organising and carrying out formal training sessions and monitoring progress reporting feedback to team leader. I was the ambassador for the department during the Migration of new market companies - and integrated new companies to PTP and the Shared Service concept. Countries include Spain, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Uk and Italy.I produced and maintained of Process documents and ensuring the PTP team comply with these. This involved using Microsoft Visio. This also included Organising and heading process review meeting's with PTP team. The meetings gained an opportunity to ensure team was complying with process documentation and also to have feedback and ideas on how to improve processes. An issue and action log was then created by myself to manage this and actioned by liaising with the clients, IT and the Continuous Improvement teamsI liaised with the Continuous Improvement team on projects and efficiently managing own projects given to increase standardisation and best practice.
