Use CAD, database and GPS programs and tools to capture, create, update and maintain as-built facilities data in the GIS database.Utilize standard GIS tools and utilities to research, capture and verify the accuracy and completeness of facilities data. Perform data capture from a variety of sources, including inspector notes, field mark-ups, digital redlines and GPS tools, and verify the accuracy and completeness of as-built project data. Update facilities databases using AutoDesk Map and Autodesk Raster Design to create updated Record drawings. Knowledge of transmission system and a high degree of accuracy is applied to create spatially correct, detailed data and maps of facilities infrastructure.Review the accuracy and completeness of work performed by other CAD Technicians and performs research associated with resolution of data and logic discrepancies.Obtain record information from other utilities; researches files, drawings and maps for water line locations, depth and other relative information; checks assessor’s maps, survey maps and parcel information for various data.Occasionally perform field GPS data capture to obtain information to ensure the accuracy of facilities data.
