Leading the UK-wide Retail Annuities Business Development team. Our goal is to achieve growth in the annuities market and increase the use of L&G’s annuities propositions by advisers to help meet their clients goals within retirement. As part of this role I am also taking on a Product Owner position within a change Scrum team.

My role is to help businesses providing advice across wealth planning, equity release, mortgages and protection to grow and build strategies to incorporate protection processes and sales. Working closely with Business Development Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Product Development and the Marketing team, my goal is to grow the number of clients using Legal and General for their financial gaps and insurance needs. The role involves finding and implementing innovative ways to grow the business, develop engaging content for BDMs and SAMs to use with their stakeholders, design and deliver educational sales webinars, design and deliver interactive workshops and host live conferences and events (<100+ attendees).

This involves everything from arranging adviser training events all the way through to our product and proposition offering to St James's Place advisers. I am currently balancing this alongside my role as a Market Development Manager.

This role involved developing, leading and implementing a regional later life planning team covering the whole of the North region when Nationwide formed the launch of the equity release product. The team specialised in giving advice to members aged 55+. I was responsible for growing this business from scratch, the teams sales performance, conversions, risk metric, coaching and mentoring. It was also my responsibility to ensure my team and I were engaging with branch colleagues and other business areas to generate leads. My number one goal was to ensure constant business growth within the region.More latterly in this role, due to the success I'd had within my own region, I was seconded in to a project team where I focused on performance growth and people strategy for the entire later life department. This gave me experience working alongside exec board, CFO, business analysts, marketing teams, communications teams, web designers and product teams to find solutions to improve our end-to-end journey for the; customer, business and/or colleagues. Ultimately finding ways to maximise team performance and profits.

To further progress my career as an Area Manager, I took a role in the Bournemouth site which meant moving from Scotland. I had a team of 9 mortgage advisers and my goal was to increase levels of protection sales. Within my time in this role I implemented protection sales workshops in collaboration with our Legal and General account manager (life and critical illness cover) and our RSA account manager (general insurance). Within my own team this workshop increased their protection sales from 17% up to 41% within 2 months. Due to the success, the workshops were rolled out across the business and they increased conversion rates across the video channel mortgage teams within 3 head office sites.
