Providing bilingual therapy services for people seeking individual or group support.

-Provide consultations in English and Spanish with new clients, including screening and assessment of new cases-Provide trauma- and shame-informed individual counseling in English and Spanish for up to 15 clients utilizing psycho-education, cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and dialectical behavior therapy techniques-Provide mental health assessments for LGBTQ+ asylum seekers-Recruit and screen applicants for support groups and facilitate support groups -Advocate for client needs with other providers-Assist clients in accessing social services, legal support and housing authorities-Conduct training to community groups and professional organizations about LGBTQ+ survivors, including discussing the impact of violence on communities of color -Collaborate with victim services agencies and community organizations in support of survivor rights-Answer consult line in a professional manner during assigned shift for the week, schedule intake appointments and provide referrals as needed

-Counsel up to 13 English and Spanish speaking adult clients residing in Sanctuary for Families crisis shelter utilizing psycho-education, cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy techniques-Submit referrals as needed, including interdepartmental referrals and referrals to outside service providers-Document sessions and client counseling progress on the agency’s online database-Co-facilitate weekly group meetings with the Supervising Clinician to educate residential clients about the consequences of experiencing abuse and to build skills to cope with trauma symptoms -Collaborate with Survivor Leader Coordinator to increase Survivor Leaders’ role in shaping and informing the Crisis Shelter program-Collaborate with clinical staff for shared cases to address the family unit-Collaborate with other bilingual therapists to create/revise materials utilized in client sessions, including translated versions of handouts and assessments-Advocate for clients involved with other service providers, including Administration of Children’s Services (ACS), mental health providers and legal staff-Provide task supervision to MSW intern including provision of weekly clinical supervision for an hour and oversight of clinical cases-Accompany clients to appointments as needed-Conduct fluency assessments in Spanish for potential incoming clinical staff -Provide hotline coverage as needed for 4 hours on a weekly basis-Provide consultation on organizational responses to vicarious trauma-Facilitate training and support groups on vicarious trauma for counselors, social workers and attorneys who specialize in gender-based violence

-Counseled up to 8 clients between the ages of 6 and 18-Documented sessions and client counseling progress on the agency’s online database-Assisted hotline callers 4 hours per week by assessing safety, identifying needs, and providing information related to agency services -Created, revised, and delivered outreach materials relevant to children and youth, including educational presentations to middle and high school students (e.g. gender roles, dating violence, healthy relationships) -Collaborated with staff for shared cases and parent meetings, as needed, to address issues related to family unit -Assisted with organizing child care 2 hours per week, including engaging in play therapy-Co-facilitated parent support group, including screening interviews
