I am actively involved in strategic communications and provide communications counsel to internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis. This includes ensuring synergy across public relations and marketing efforts to ensure consistency in messaging and branding. With the COVID-19 pandemic, new areas of work have emerged to bolster our public health defences, such as wastewater surveillance. I am actively involved in strategising, developing and executing the communications plan for wastewater surveillance. I also led development and implementation of a strategic and holistic communications plan for the Environmental Services Industry Transformation Map in 2017, and I am constantly involved in industry-related communications. A key project that I’ve been involved in is the CleanEnviro Summit Singapore, which is a global trade event that brings together overseas delegates and business leaders to engage in meaningful discourse on environmental challenges and solutions.

I work with multiple departments to develop and execute strategic communications plans for a wide range of topics related to public health. I also mobilise the support of the operational and policy departments on a daily basis to respond to media in a timely manner when issues or crises arise, and proactively shape reporters’ angles to maximise favourable publicity for the organisation. To uphold the organisation's reputation, I also provide risk assessment for operational and policy reviews to anticipate communications issues that might arise, and provide counsel on the appropriate framing to ensure that the key messages are communicated effectively to the media and public.

I handled media, creative and press matters during my stint at SIT, along with occasional event planning, corporate gifting and procurement. In terms of branding, I worked closely with the creative and media agencies to manage the conceptualisation and production of marketing collateral, and media buying throughout the year. Press-wise, I liaised with relevant stakeholders (including government agencies) to issue joint releases and arranged for feature interviews whenever necessary. I also pitched students' success stories to editors of polytechnic publications to raise awareness for SIT.

I managed public-facing content and helped to create a digital presence for the school by populating the Facebook page and YouTube channel with relevant content. I was in charge of the website revamp project, during which I had to work with the senior management and HODs to identify areas of improvement for the new website. I also worked with the digital agency to launch a microsite for visitors and assisted the management in hosting local and overseas delegates whenever necessary.

I performed location recces prior to shoots and handled administrative and logistical tasks on a daily basis. I also assisted the wardrobe stylist with fittings and helped to collate briefs for clients. During my short stint there, I was involved in the following television commercials: Brands Utt Game Show, Singapore Kindness Movement 2009, Singapore Kindness Movement, Insing and Singapore Tourism Board

I supported the team in executing internal communications efforts such as updating the intranet, organising townhall sessions for staff and producing content for the internal e-newsletter. I also provided support to the Art Director from Shell London for a corporate photo shoot and designed posters for the Shell-MOE Band Fiesta 2008.
