Assist in the coordinated effort to provide services to special education students K-5. Classroom aid and one on one services provided to each identified student several times per week. Assist in the creation of a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all students. Took the initiative to include hands-on learning by building raised bed vegetable gardens for the students at our school and our sister school and our sister school to maintain and harvest; creating a sense of confidence and security for the students.

Work with nonprofit and educational institutions to grow vegetables in raised beds and community garden plots for food insecure children and families. My work with NH Gleans earned me the nomination of 2020 Granite State Food Hero, a nomination made by a farmer I work closely with.

As the Sales Manager for one of the largest organic vegetable and dairy farms in NH, I have learned so much about the importance of educating the public through marketing. We sell a full range of products from raw, 100% grass-fed dairy and cheese to beef, pastured pork and certified organic produce. This leaves me with the task of educating the public about the importance of buying from local, sustainable farms. Success in my position contributes to the strengthening of our local infrastructure while improving the health and well-being of the environment as well as our customers. It is important for people to see this, and it is something that we market through social media, newsletters, events and point of sale materials.

New Hampshire Food Bank

I worked with the warehouse personnel to improve efficiency within the food bank. I performed routine audits, constantly searched for and worked towards ways to eliminate waste. I have been trained in Lean Manufacturing and have a thorough understanding of the Toyota Business Model. I have also assisted this facility in its efforts to remain AIB certified. My efforts to ensure maintenance of AIB certification helped NH Food Bank achieve a score 960/1000 during the AIB audit.

For 10 months I served as a Corps Member for AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps. I was part of a 10 person teaming, and served our country through disaster response and relief efforts. I served as the Media Representative, Diversity Representative, Public Outreach Liaison and as the Hazard Mitigation Specialist for my team. I was in charge of all things media related, from photographing volunteer work to tweeting about our projects. I was also responsible for educating my teammates about the importance of respecting the diversity of the world. I also discovered cultural events for us to attend and facilitated discussions about diversity that would give everyone a unique perspective. I have also been trained in Hazard Mitigation. As a Hazard Mitigation Specialist I was tasked with teaching disaster victims how to prevent damage when future disasters strike. This was a complicated and demanding role, but it is the experience of a lifetime. I know how prevent fire hazards, fire damage, how to reduce the risk of flood damage and how to prepare for inevitable floods. Another aspect of my responsibilities in this role was reporting. I filled out databases and spreadsheets that would be reported to the US Congress to inform them of the efforts made by the Federal Government to better the lives of disaster victims. Basically, I shwed them where Federal dollars were being spent and the assistance that was being provided with those dollars.

As a Writing and Publishing Intern at the Greater Keene Chamber commerce I wrote and edited articles for the chamber's monthly newsletter. Through reading these articles and meeting local business owners, I became familiar with the ways in which local businesses work together to create a healthy community. In addition to writing and editing, I did a lot of data entry which improved my knowledge Excel and other database programs.

As a Phonathon Caller at Keene State College I call alumni and update their contact information, build a healthy rapport and collect their donations for the KSC Fund. Working in this position has given me the opportunity to develop excellent communication skills and it has also taught me a lot about the area's history. Alumni love to share stories and it's amazing the things you can learn if you just listen.
