• Spearheaded a collaborative research project including clinicians and scientists from Penn, Case Western, Harvard, and Cornell to develop machine learning methods to study prostate cancer. • First authored a paper in Clinical Cancer Research detailing the development of a novel, population-specific prognostic machine learning model for prostate cancer risk prediction using.• Applied computer vision and machine learning techniques to quantitatively analyze the behavior of prostate cancer in patients of different demographics. • Implemented computer vision and machine learning algorithms to develop precision medicine models for cancer diagnostics and prognostic predictions.

• Executed multiple projects with the common goal of elucidating the structures and functions of proteins complexes related to human autophagy, a process whereby cells eliminate damaged, toxic, and otherwise extraneous materials.• First authored a paper in PNAS describing the novel structure and mechanism of Rubicon, a protein that negatively regulates autophagy, in complex with the GTPase Rab7.• Employed biochemical and biophysical techniques including X-ray crystallography, mass spectrometry, hydrogen-deuterium exchange (HDX), and protein chromatography to investigate these questions. • Investigated protein complexes implicated in aging, neurodegenerative disease, and stress response in humans.

• Conducted live interviews at the Berkeley Forum with speakers from a variety of disciplines, including Vsauce founder and host Michael Stevens, Google VP Vint Cerf, and Director of the Google Quantum AI Lab Hartmut Neven.• Trained new members of the Moderating team in question writing and public speaking.The Berkeley Forum is a non-partisan, student-run organization that provides the Berkeley community with a platform for the free discussion and debate of a wide range of ideas by hosting debates, panels, and talks with distinguished speakers.

• Collaborated with the Schreiter and Lavis Labs at Janelia to develop a novel class of indicator for neuronal activity in vivo, combining small-molecule fluorophores with protein capture and sensor domains to improve photostability and introduce modularity. • Sensor is currently being tested in vivo by multiple neuroscience research groups, and a patent is pending for this invention.

• Participated in a collaborative program between the Stanford University School of Medicine and Phillips Exeter Academy. • Measured and analyzed the effect of silencing various GPCRs on insulin production and secretion in flies using a novel ELISA-based assay, and developed a software tool for automating the statistical analysis of raw data obtained from the protocol. • Contributed to a repository of LexA/LexAop enhancer traps in Drosophila melanogaster managed by the Seung Kim Lab at Stanford.

Worked on the QuestionsApp social media project as a lead iOS developer, restoring a largely defunct Objective C and C project to a far faster, up-to-date codebase.
