Since completing my Communication degree at Western Carolina University, I've fallen in love with the accessibility space. Currently, I'm working for Splash Box Marketing within their Section 508 team, remediating WCAG 2.0-compliant Word, PowerPoint, and PDF documents and forms, primarily through CommonLook and Adobe Acrobat Pro's native accessibility software. In my previous role, I regularly created these documents and worked to make video courses accessible via captions and written transcripts. In both work environments, I've been fortunate enough to develop soft skills in multitasking, picking up new skills quickly, working to my teammates’ strengths, and efficiently delivering fast turnarounds. My love of accessibility also extends to my personal life – at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered to edit and hand-caption weekly services for a local church for several months. My persistent perfectionism leads me to be positive that every problem has a solution and drives me to find that solution every time.
