In 2018, I launched penandpaperphonics.com, an educational blog for parents and educators all about phonics. The aim of this is to provide quick, easy and effective phonics activities for toddlers, preschoolers and elementary students, that only require a few resources, such as a pen and paper. The idea behind my blog is that phonics is a fundamental part.

I am currently undertaking a practicum to become an Associate of the AOGPE. This involves working one on one with a child with dyslexia, using the Orton Gillingham sequence and lesson structure. The content and structure of OG lessons is designed specifically to meet the needs of children with dyslexia, ensuring they learn to read successfully. Ongoing.

My passion is teaching reading, and I love to help children progress through the individual stages of reading to full fluency and independence. I currently work one to one with students, tutoring them in reading and writing, online and in person. My 10+ years experience of being a class teacher has allowed me to adapt and develop resources and activities.
