HC Tan holds a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from National University Of Singapore and has amassed a wealth of experience in the semi-conductor industry specifically in the backend assembly processes. He possesses the qualities and attributes of a typical engineer: analytical, meticulous, data oriented, with good problem solving, communication and leadership skills. He is able to think logically as well as out of the box and his creative and innovative skills resulted in a total of 23 US patents. He is currently leveraging and bringing his experience and skillset into his most recent role as a Sales and Business Development Manager in the tin can manufacturing industry. His experience, working principle and attitude has led to some notable achievements and these includes the successful transition of technology from parent US site, development of new process capabilities for challenging new products, aggressively driving cost reduction and yield improvement projects to completion, precise identification of root cause and implementation of effective CAPAs, leading and developing a team of high performing engineers and technicians, amongst others.HC Tan relishes challenges and is undaunted by seemingly impossible goals and targets. He is always willing to accept new roles and move out of his comfort zone. Over the many years of his career, he has moved between different processes in his process engineering role, trying his hand in a process development role, moving from a technical role to a management role and most recently from an engineering oriented role to an entirely new and different role in sales and business development. He applies the same tenacious and disciplined attitude in his personal aspects of life and is working to complete his goal of running a full marathon in the near future. His interests outside of work life includes books, music, fitness, travel and games which can stimulate the brain.
