SNAC (previously Femmedère) aims to educate/support marginalized populations by offering workshops on nutrition and financial literacy at community centers, schools, and women’s shelters within Montreal. To fund workshops and increase the accessibility of healthy food within the student community, Femmedère established the Good Food Box Program on McGill’s Downtown campus. Through a partnership with Moisson Montreal, Good Food Box supplies wholesale produce to students on campus, increasing accessibility to fresh, affordable, and local produce.

At the time of the tournament, McGill Debating Union was the 2013 North American Women's Debating Champions, the 2013 North American University Debating Champions, and the 2013 Canadian National Debating Champions. It was ranked third in the whole world of debate institutions.

The McGill Canadian Conference for Linguistics Undergraduates ("McCCLU") is an annual 3-day conference for undergraduate students in Linguistics from across Canada and the United States. The four-member team has total responsibility for the conference. Undergraduates will get the opportunity to present their research to other students and professionals in the field. The conference takes place at McGill University. The aim of the conference is to promote and encourage individual endeavors in the world of research as well as to enrich the present academic undergraduate community within the field of Linguistics. Undergraduate students from the United States and across Canada present their original research in various fields of Linguistics. Previously, this conference has been awarded the Best Academic event by McGill University's Arts Undergraduate Society.
