The National Shipper Advisory Committee is a federal advisory committee. The Committee will provide information, insight, and expertise pertaining to conditions in the ocean freight delivery system to the Commission. Specifically, the Committee will advise the Commission on policies relating to the competitiveness, reliability, integrity, and fairness of the international ocean freight delivery system. Membership will be comprised of 12 representatives of entities who export cargo and 12 representatives of entities who import cargo.The Committee will operate under the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5 U.S.C. App., and 46 U.S.C. chapter 425.

The Auto Care Government Affairs Committee works with association staff to develop and implement the Auto Care Association’s legislative and regulatory policies that are aimed at both protecting and enhancing the business of the vehicle auto care market in the United States and abroad.

The Auto Care Association International Trade Committee (Trade Committee) will serve as the principal advisory committee on the association’s trade policy and trade promotion initiatives. The Trade Committee will advise the Auto Care Association Board of Directors on policies and programs that affect U.S. trade performance; promote export expansion; and provide a forum for discussing and resolving trade-related problems among the auto care industry.

In 2016 the Federal Maritime Commission issued an Order directing Commissioner Rebecca Dye to work with U.S. international supply chain stakeholders to form Supply Chain Innovation Teams that will develop commercial solutions to supply chain challenges and related port congestion concerns.

In January 2018, the Commission held a two-day hearing that explored issues raised in the petition by soliciting testimony from shippers, ocean transportation intermediaries, ocean carriers, truckers, and marine terminal operators.

Formed and led coalition of importers and manufacturers to revoke the Anti-Dumping Duty order against wheel hub units with tapered roller bearings (TRB's) manufactured in the People’s Republic of China, at the International Trade Commission (ITC). Outside of legal counsel, led the coalition in testifying at the ITC Sunset hearing.

INDUSTRY’S VOICE IN U.S.TRADE POLICY:The Industry Trade Advisory Committees (ITACs) are a unique public-private partnership jointly managed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of United States Trade Representative (USTR) that engages business leaders in formulating U.S. trade policy.As part of the USTR-led trade advisory committee system, the Department of Commerce and USTR co-administer fourteen ITACs and more than 300+ trade advisors, who provide detailed policy and technical advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce and The United States Trade Representative regarding trade barriers, negotiations of trade agreements, and implementation of existing trade agreements affecting industry sectors; and perform other advisory functions relevant to U.S. trade policy matters.

MEMA is the trade association for motor vehicle and mobility suppliers and parts manufacturers and remanufacturers. Our members supply both the original equipment and aftermarket segments of the light vehicle (car and truck) and commercial vehicle (on- and off-road) industries. MEMA serves the industry as the voice of the motor vehicle and mobility supplier industry, speaking out on behalf of the largest manufacturing sector in the United States.

The BMC is dedicated to providing members current information relating to the brake industry, and communicating with federal, state and local government and regulatory agencies on members’ behalf. Established in 1973, The Brake Manufacturers Council is comprised of brake friction manufacturers dedicated to:Providing and maintaining, for the mutual benefit of all its members, communications as appropriate with federal, state and local governmental authorities, bodies and agencies, in short, authorities - such as NHTSA - with legislative or regulatory function whose actions may affect automotive brake parts or systems.Obtaining and disseminating to members information on topics of interest to the brake parts industry. Conducting any further activities as may be appropriate and for the common benefit of manufacturers of automotive brake parts or systems.

Outside of legal counsel, led the coalition in testifying at the ITC Sunset hearing. Coalition efforts were successful in revoking the order, which had outlived its purpose.
