With a strong passion for quantitative analysis, coupled with extensive academic and corporate experience, Hoda works on designing and implementing data driven strategies across different sectors and for different business applications. After working as data scientist in North America where her functions involved in-depth statistical and ML algorithms to improve business processes and design new services and products, Hoda joined the American University of Beirut as Assistant Professor in Data Science and Big Data Analytics. Her role at AUB varies between conducting in depth research on different scopes in data science, working on improving and perfecting the MSBA program to equip the students with the necessary skillsets for the current market's needs, and teaching data science courses. As part of her community service, Hoda is a Woman in Data Science (WiDS@AUB) Ambassador. She recently co-chaired the biggest data science conference in the region where she developed the content and was able to bring in high caliber scientists from Netflix, Google and Amazon. She is a keynote speaker, participating in regional and international conferences, promoting research and applications in data science and fostering inclusivity in the field. She is a member of the advisory board of McGill University Continuing Education, where she works on developing proposals and curriculums for different data science certificates.
