Post-hire, Impact Sims pinpoints development needs to target training and coaching better.As a principal software engineer for Impact Sims I planned and implemented new features and updated critical parts of the system to meet performance goals. I consolidated legacy systems to simplify adding new features, increase stability, and improve scalability. I also migrated the deployment process from being manually script driven to a CI pipeline using Bitbucket Pipelines and deploying in AWS ECS with Docker.

Greenstone Media is an Asheville NC based web agency specializing in digital marketing and supporting businesses with Wordpress websites, custom web applications, and mobile applications.As CTO of Greenstone Media I established and managed a custom software team acting as lead developer on bespoke Laravel based web applications paired with a variety of frontend technologies (React, Angular, Vue), and mobile applications built with React Native.I was also responsible for the health and management of the server infrastructure for the custom web applications. This includes deploying, monitoring, and securing the individual servers and databases on Digital Ocean's cloud, and also establishing consistent deployment strategies for the various platforms we supported using Git Flow and Laravel Forge.During my tenure as CTO I oversaw the development and deployment of over a dozen full custom web and mobile applications. ECBizSolutions is a general web development agency specializing in e-commerce sites. These include Drupal Commerce Kickstart and Prestashop sites. Billboard sites were also created using Wordpress, with custom software solutions developed in Laravel 4 and 5.I managed several staging and production machines on Digital Ocean's cloud infrastructure, implementing security fixes and performing server maintenance, installing and securing various web applications, and running database servers. The UGoTour mobile application was developed in coordination with the NCDOT to provide users access to North Carolina's beautiful scenic byways. It was developed as a driving or hiking companion to help users discover new areas to explore along with other scenery such as waterfalls and mountain peaks. It also allowed content creators to build custom tours with geolocation capabilities for tours around mountain towns.Its main focus for the town tours was less on typical tourism (where can I get a burger) and more on what makes the areas you are exploring special (this store has been in my family for 3 generations) by allowing locals to guide your experience through written storytelling, images, or audio.The application was built with Cordova, AngularJS, HTML, and Bootstrap 3. Ubuntu Server 14.04LTS was used for the build process. I also developed and implemented a CMS for managing the data store using Laravel 5.

It is a complete third party end-to-end single source solution for managing consumer returns.As a software engineer I built a custom intranet web application to allow tracking of inventory, testing of products on the production lines, and shipping manifests for outgoing shipments. I also worked with the management and line leaders in order to create optimal workflows and increase productivity on the remanufacturing lines.As IT support I sourced parts and built computers to install onto the production lines in order to interact with the testing and inventory software.
