Real time communication backend team.- Expended team from 2 to 30+, setup onboard training process and SOP, built up knowledge base and development standards, led OKR planning, setup long-term team goals; led the team maintain 20+ services and deliver results with critical timeline.- Owner of TikTok RTC compliance, designed and implemented RTC gateway to support data auditing requirements for various data transmission channels, including gRPC/thrift, WebSocket, HTTP, SOCKS5, SRTP/SRTCP/H264/H265, MySQL, Hive, etc., and made sure TikTok RTC was compliant in US.- Drove the evolution of global data synchronization and decentralization to edge of RTC backend system to support new data center topology and growing traffic, which improved performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and stability.- Drove the design and development of intelligent data-driven dynamic scheduling of RTC cloud edge system.- Led the design and implementation of an internal reliability platform, which included CI/CD, scheduling, quality control, rollback, version comparison and report, improved deployment efficiency and reduced risks significantly.- Constructed Hive data warehouse and built Flink data pipelines for RTC server and client data, designed and built visualization tools using Graphviz to automatically render data pipelines and table topology in real time.

Quality Control of data ingestion pipeline for the Data Technologies Infrastructure team.- Designed and implemented a metrics system that provides time series metrics with PySpark; Refactored the system with a distributed implementation that improved scalability with up to 4 times more throughput.- Designed and implemented a notification system that handles millions of messages per day and supports Jinja template filter and Jira tickets creation.- Maintained data model business rule engine, an internal microservice framework, and the corresponding distributed tracing system.
