Return Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV): Served as a Community Health Volunteer in the town of Chalucuane, a small rural community in the southern province of Gaza, specializing in the area of treatment adherence and supportive services. Collaborated with hospital counterparts and community health activists to develop and expand support systems for people living with HIV/AIDS who had abandoned or were at risk of abandoning treatments and health care services. Implemented a support group project - Grupos de Apoio a Adesão Comunitária–GAAC, an adult HIV/AIDS treatment adherence support group project with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) ,as well as a youth development project, Rapariga em Desenvolvimento, Educação e Saúde -REDES that instructs and empowers young women in the areas of health and education.Experienced site displacement due to flooding of the Limpopo River in January 2013 and relocated to Chicumbane , Gaza for the duration of service; continued work with GAAC groups at this location.
