The Heartland CFC reaches out to over 50,000 Federal & Postal employees at more than 1,000 locations throughout Kansas & Western & Southern Missouri. The Federal Government is the largest employer in the Kansas City area. Heartland CFC also serves employees in Fort Riley, Salina, Springfield, Topeka, and 91 counties in Kansas, as well as 36 counties on in Missouri.The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is to support and to promote philanthropy through a program that is employee-focused, cost efficient and effective in providing all Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Conducted by the federal government under the authority of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the CFC operates in more than 250 localities throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and in overseas military bases. CFC continues to be the largest and most successful workplace fundraising model in the world, raising over $270 million in 2008 for thousands of local, national, and international charitable agencies.
