Well, after 28+ years of working full time in real estate, I just felt it was time to make yet another change... and now I've opted to move to a much larger real estate company and work remotely from my home office. It was a snap decision and one that I needed to make and took the initiative and made. It's brave to jump ship after 11.5 years with one agency, but it needed to be done. I'm very happy that I made the jump! MORE Realty has really turned out to be everything I had hoped it would be. Real estate is rapidly changing and those of us who love this industry need to be flexible and change with the times. This does not mean that we're sacrificing any of our great customer service skills. What it does mean is that we can focus on the problem solving and great customer care at hand without a lot of frivolous distractions that come with being in a group office environment, while we still have the support we need from the overhead management. And, we get to reap the benefits of reducing management's overhead costs too. I pay a regular desk fee and a small per transaction fee and my ordinary state taxes per transaction. Beyond that, my time and the money I earn are both my own. It's such a freeing experience all round. I highly recommend both new and established real estate professionals to consider this option. See update below. Effective January 15, 2015, I'm switching places with my business partner and becoming a managing broker for the company while she takes over as the new designated broker. I have wanted to make this change for quite some time and now that she has finally obtained her managing level broker's license, it's time to streamline the operations and have her be both the business owner and the responsible broker. And this allows me the time I need to focus on my own real estate clients without the added stress of what else is going on around me. We'll see how it goes. God bless us all as we sort this change over out. Wow, what a lot of follow up paperwork!
