• Led R&D initiatives on machine-learning, computer vision, medical imaging analysis, and automation as related to the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injuries (TBI/ABI). • Developed a fully-automated brain parcellation/segmentation tool that uses a set of convolutional neural nets in a U-Net structure to identify functional brain regions from a structural MRI. Integrated into the existing analysis process. Reduced the processing time of the neuro-anatomy expert by >90%.• Co-Invented the 2nd Generation Functional Neuro-Cognitive Imaging software package (fNCI2); a fully-automated, machine-learned, functional-MRI (fMRI) processing tool for use in TBI and ABI assessment and classification. Replaced the manual process and eliminated the need for a neuro-anatomy expert. • Invented “Tomar”, a rehabilitation tool used to treat cranial nerve dysfunction, and developed the initial treatment protocol. Integrated the tool into the overall TBI and ABI treatment protocols, leading to vastly improved auditory and visual localization for several hundred patients and improved olfactory function in approximately 20 patients with post-Covid anosmia.• Developed a genetic algorithm for the creation of optimized patient, therapist, and clinic resource schedules. Continuously refined based on therapist feedback and clinic evolution. Replaced the manual process, allowing for increased patient loads, the hiring of additional therapists, and improved schedules. Generated, optimized, and uploaded approximately 700 appointments per week.• Mentored several members of leadership and management, at the request of ownership.• Automation allowed for growth of the clinic from approximately 400 patients/year to approximately 850 patients/year by eliminating operational bottlenecks.

• Developed several physics-based computational models of the system and optimized all design and set-point parameters for maximum water production based on the local environment.• Specified, built, tested, and refined each generation of prototypes.• Built a machine learning algorithm for real-time motor control optimization, adapting to local conditions and mitigating performance degradation over time, increasing production by an average of 17%.• Helped secure $5M in Series A funding for Zero Mass Water (now Source Global).

• Research and Development on air and electrolyte flow for the next generation of metal-air batteries• Developed several CFD models to optimize the flow path inside of an air-cathode. Models led to the design of a new cathode that provided consistent flow throughout the life of the battery as the materials degraded.• Developed several CFD models of buoyancy-driven electrolyte internal flow. Models led to the design and patent of the Internal Convection Cell, reducing cost and complexity by eliminating the internal pump.

• Technical lead on several high-impact technologies, including the water-from-air ‘Hydropanel’ prototypes, novel hydraulic fracturing methods and additive manufacturing. Generated and was awarded several patents.

• Technical lead for Surge and Stall in the Fan and Compressor Methods Group.• Developed several Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models of fan and compressor flow paths in support of the design team.• Improved the prediction of the surge/stall point on the “QHSF2” design by approximately 90%. • Developed several automated analysis tools that decreased the processing time for flowpath and operating parameter analysis by approximately 80%.

• Developed CFD models for the Nano-Ferrites Group to optimize a 'Spin-Spray' deposition chamber, significantly increasing ferrite deposition efficiency. • Developed several electromagnetic and micromagnetic models to apply the ferrites to antenna and EM-shielding designs. Insights led to the confirmation of the “multi-grain domain” hypothesis to explain the very high observed magnetic permeability and resonance frequency.

• Taught the course “Numerical Methods for Engineers”.
