Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.Pull purchased parts from stock and/or determine availability and submit emergency orders.Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.Order parts not in stock and notify the Shop Foreman and customer upon receipt.Ensure that all charge sales are signed by the customer.Manage the front counter and merchandise sales.

Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records.Pack and determine method of outgoing shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.Operate tier-lift truck or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from trucks for the shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.Ship parts returns vendors/suppliers.Process customer returns.

Deliver parts to vendors and suppliers.Ensure that all delivery receipts are accurate.
