During my tenure with Steensen Varming I moved from an intermediate role into a more senior position with responsibility for managing an internal team and liaising with the wider project delivery team including; clients, project managers, and other consultants. I continued working for SVA on a contractual basis whilst managing Tupari vineyard.Key Projects:• Museum of Contemporary Art, Circular Quay, Sydney - $62 million AUD redevelopment of a historically significant building on Sydney’s waterfront, which included significant ESD initiatives including a seawater heat, exchange system. I was the design team leader responsible for the project management, documentation and co-ordination of the mechanical design.• Tyree Energy Technology Building, UNSW, Sydney - $80 million (AUD) 5 star greenstar university facility incorporating research laboratories, teaching and office spaces. The building housed a tri-generation system and was connected to the campus central energy system. I was the discipline leader for the mechanical and specialist gas services.• Bega Hospital, Bega, NSW - $100 million (AUD) regional hospital facility in a remote location. I was the design leader for the mechanical and specialists gas disciplines, responsible for the initial LCC analysis that informed critical design decisions. -

My role as an intermediate engineer was to manage the delivery of the mechanical services design on larger projects with a focus on sustainability.Key Projects:• Jumeriah Gardens, Dubai – £400 million (UK Value), one 30 floor office tower, two 25 floor residential towers and adjoining podium buildings – Responsible for developing the servicing strategy to concept stage in consultation with the architectural team based in Paris.• B&Q Corporate Headquarters - £80 million corporate office and merchandising lab – Responsible for the detailed designed of the HVAC systems including; solar absorption chiller, bio-mass boiler, water sourced heat pumps, underfloor displacement ventilation, distribution and controls.• Highbury Grove School - £45 million secondary college – Responsible for detailed designed of HVAC systems including; ground sourced heat pump, combined heat and power generator, bio-mass boiler installation, swimming pool ventilation system, VAV displacement ventilation, distribution and controls. -
Winery EngineerDelegat'S Wine Estate Jan 2006 - Jul 2007Nelson, Marlborough & Tasman, New ZealandDelegat’s Wine Estate is the producer of the Oyster Bay brand of wine. This role held significant responsibility for the on-site engineering and facility management of Delegat’s new $70 million winery project in Marlborough, New Zealand. I acted as the client representative during the final stages of construction and commissioning and then operated the facility for it's first two seasons. Key Responsibilities:• Project Management – Responsible for ensuring new plant, instrumentation and related infrastructure was installed and commissioned ready to process grapes prior to harvest each year. Examples of these projects include a 1.175MW Ammonia Chillier Plant ($450,000), Waste Water Irrigation system upgrade ($200,000), Juice Cooling in-line heat exchanger ($160,000), and the SCADA control system upgrade ($200,000).• Services & Operations – Responsible for the operation of all winery services in an efficient manner.• Equipment Maintenance – Responsible for maintenance schedule and resources to ensure all aspects of winery, plant, process equipment and associated infrastructure were well maintained.• Capacity Reporting – Responsible for monitoring the winery performance, reporting on capacity and recommending requirements for the staged increases.• Automation, Instrumentation & PLC technology – Responsible for developing and documenting the functional description for the SCADA system and testing all code.• Health & Safety – Chair of the health & safety committee.
