Heath is a Principal with Brightworks Sustainability, specializing in integrated design strategies for building projects as well as sustainability planning programs. Heath leads planning, design, and operations teams through the creative design process leveraging sustainability frameworks such as LEED and the Natural Step. Before moving to California, Heath joined the Arcosanti project in central Arizona, where he participated in the design & construction of the ongoing project. Heath served as a field engineer for the design office, and led a construction crew in the installation of earth-cast concrete construction. He also helped develop a small-scale solar & wind energy installation that keeps the all important "beer fridge" in continuous operation.Heath served as outreach coordinator and engineering tech for Local Energy, conducting a fuel-source feasibility study for the Santa Fe Biomass-Fired District Energy Project. Prior to joining Brightworks, he worked with Mazria, Odems, Dzurec, specializing in institutional passive-solar design projects, and participated in the early synthesis of Architecture 2030.
