Hired to retrain and or restaff the Savannah office. Responsible for hiring and firing of all staff and drivers. Complete all driver/employee files to ensure they are DOT standard for possible inspections. Deliver prompt and timely orientation for all drivers/employees, safety meetings, truck inspections, chassis maintenance reports, random drug tests, rates and emails. Monitored and maintained four email addresses, two with multiple people in them. In July, I was given the responsibility of heading the entire CSR team for the fourteen locations as well as the Appointments team. Conduct daily team meetings with all departments. On-call for drivers at all times; to be able to help with any issues that could possibly happen OTR. Compiled, reviewed and distributed daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s, dispatch reports, customer billing reports to ensure proper billing, profit and payroll average. Keep monthly terminal bills paid. Provided drivers with “extra’s” to help moral (treats and snacks) Used PortPro for a dispatch and rating system. Yard checks, daily chassis accountability, ordering tires, parts, and office supplies when needed as well as payroll for drivers and employes. Most importantly meet with customers to provide one on one attention to garner trust to ensure a bid is won. I usually walk through the first few containers awarded to us with the customers to ensure timely delivery and return of each load.

Recruit, hire, train and fire drivers as well as office staff. Compare monthly P and L’s for the current year. Work in conjunction with brokers and local customers to book loads. Quote for all lanes to win bids at a profit. Schedule containers to come out for local and OTR moves. Keep constant following on per diem as well as demiurge. Located and moved office and yard to current location. Ensure proper chassis usage and repair for all company owned chassis. Payroll of drivers for local as well as OTR drivers weekly as well as office payroll. Communicate with corporate for medical reviews, random drug tests, and MVR reports. Recruit new drivers and customers. Work in Navis 4, go port, Jaxport, for all moves for imports and exports. Work with a bonded warehouse for CBP holds. Input of all delivery orders. Understanding of trucking dispatch, including mastery of DOT regulations and hours of service. Works well with others; able to coordinate operations with staff at other company locations.

Clear dispatch board every day. Plan for local drivers (10 plus at times) for all local moves. Work with local companies to ensure drivers have 5 full rounds from port to customer and back. Pin, research, and complete bookings through Navis 3. Order entry for all local drays. Set up appointments for deliveries and loading.

Recruit, train and assess drivers and their qualifications as per driving laws and company regulations. Coordinate with drivers, staff and management to hold meetings and resolve issues. Manage records of drivers, expenditures and of government rules and driving regulations. Maintain costs of driving within a budget for each truck. Maintaining detailed work records of all maintenance done to the trucks. Ensuring Drivers are following the route provided to them to insure profitability of the truck. Able to identify trends with drivers to ensure loads are covered efficiently and delivered on time. Worked hard to gain the respect of 41 drivers and their families. They all know they can call me at any time of day or night, and I can help them in any situation they might be in. Drivers still call me 3 years later.

With a focus on customer service, I managed estimates and invoicing for the repair and maintenance of chassis and containers. I became proficient in customer-based computer programs for 5 national and international companies with 15 different locations.  Worked closely with regional directors and account representatives for tariff changes as well as parts and labor pricing.  Also created spreadsheets for customers and management to reconcile delinquent accounts.
