Since joining Healthworks Ergonomics, I've played an instrumental role in developing our on-site injury prevention programs, developing and teaching our train-the-trainer and program planning curriculums, and performing ergonomic assessments for both office and industrial settings. I was initially led to the field of occupational therapy while working as a machine operator in an industrial setting. In this setting, I volunteered as a member of the monthly safety audit team, and had frequent interactions with an onsite occupational therapist who showed me that the field was not just about treating injuries and illnesses, but also preventing them with workplace modifications and injury prevention programs. Inspired by this knowledge, I enrolled in Texas Woman's University and earned my Master of Occupational Therapy degree.
